Well, it’s been a minute, hasn’t it? I didn’t think that when I finally decided to come back to my old blog that the world would be upside down. I thought this would be a good time to jump back on here and do something I enjoy.
So, what have I been up too? I am handing in my final assignment for my journalism degree, which is so surreal! The end of uni is a bit different to how I imagined, I am not driving up the A1 every day stressing to get to the library to finish my projects. Honestly, now I wish I had never once complained about uni, as I miss it so much! I am so sad that my university experience has had to end like this, being stuck at home and not able to celebrate my achievements! But, I can’t wait for all the fun once this nightmare is over.
I have also been getting into cooking during isolation. I have even set up an Instagram account to document all of my recipes and food pictures! I am really enjoying cooking for my family as it is another thing to occupy my mind during the lockdown. If you want to see what I’ve been making then make sure to check out @georgiamayscooking on Instagram.
I have been doing a lot of different things to get through lockdown, which I will be documenting on my blog over the next few days. I think during this time it is so important to keep a routine, occupy your mind and set yourself little daily goals so you can feel like you have achieved something, big or small.
However, it is also important to use this time to rest and have a break from the busy schedule of everyday life. As much as I miss my family, friends and boyfriend terribly I do think lockdown has made life much more chill and relaxed. I don’t know about you, but this experience has made me realise that half of the things I used to stress about are meaningless, and not worth getting worked up over. So, hopefully, we can take something positive away from this bad situation that the world has dealt us.
If you are reading this, thank you for coming back to my little corner of the internet that I had abandoned for way too long (oops). I am back, motivated and feeling more creative than ever and I am so excited to get started.
